This call for papers invites contributions to Op. Cit.: A Journal of Anglo-American Studies (Series 4, No. 1, General Issue, 2026) on the theme of “(New) Beginnings”. The issue seeks essays that explore beginnings in Anglo-American literature and culture, attending to their hopeful potential as well as their uncertainty, anxiety, and transformative power (5,000–7,500 words). Contributions from established scholars, postgraduate students, and early career researchers are welcome. Submissions, which must be unpublished and prepared according to the journal’s guidelines and stylesheet, should be sent to op.cit.journal@gmail.com by 15 January 2026 and will undergo double-blind peer review.
